The first time I made a sauce, I used the power start, then went to simmer without anything boiling over. A miracle!
I did make a mark that was a bit hard to clean off when I accidently used a pot that had something already burned on the bottom from my old stove. It is important to keep pot clean and smooth on the bottom.
Overall, I love this cooktop.
